insomniaindex A great short EP length release of Dungeon Synth in 8-bit style with superbly catchy melodies composed into compact and very effective pieces. The music gets quite touching overtime too, it's very nice listen. Favorite track: there was no light anywhere in the world.

sjรถhรคxan Solid and true-to-form famitracker fun and an instant earworm! There were some "whoa" moments where the melody took such a cool turn. Also such a unique concept behind the album, and inspired me to do further reading. Now if only there was a game to go with it, I'd be happy! Favorite track: alone in the unholy dark.

old_toby Don your cloak and dagger for an expedition into a strange yet familiar land of enchantments and mystery. A wonderful reminder of the truly magical day's of my youth when 8-bit fantasy adventure game soundtracks would sweep me away into a world filled with hero's of might and magic. The world of Vaya's Blade feels expansive and its connection to C.L. Moore's story gives you an even larger world to dive into for a completely realized vision of sound, story and visuals. Favorite track: carrying a weight of inexplicable doom.

about

This release is a soundtrack to C.L. Moore's "Black God's Kiss," first published in the October issue of Weird Tales in 1934.

Each track captures a moment in the story following Jirel of Joiry, the fierce commander of Joiry's military, as she journeys into unholy darkness to get her revenge. After facing defeat in battle and being imprisoned by her foe, Jirel escapes the dungeon and dives into a hellish dimension full of horrors seeking a cursed weapon to defeat her enemy. In exchange for all the light in her world, Jirel embraces eternal damnation to exact vengeance.

All of the music was made using FamiTracker.

Appendix N: Black God's Kiss, Rekkr, Guillaume de Machaut, Primal, Cairn
